Vectra 3D Aesthetic Simulation
If you are one of the tens of thousands of people each year considering an aesthetic procedure, Wake Forest Facial Plastic Surgery has good news for you. Recent advances in three-dimensional (3D) photography, combined with revolutionary new software, allow prospective patients to preview what they will look like as the result of Botox® injections, dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation, facelift, rhinoplasty and more.
Both the VECTRA® 3D camera and Sculptor software were developed by Canfield Imaging Systems, the world’s leading provider of medical photography systems. Canfield specializes in photographic applications for aesthetic medicine, and their products are used in patient consultations by thousands of practitioners worldwide.
The process starts with a VECTRA 3D session. Using multiple cameras, it takes a number of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view, which are used to build a three-dimensional virtual model of the subject. This creates the starting point for your aesthetic consultation.
Then, using Sculptor software, the physician is able to simulate the expected results of a variety of surgical and aesthetic procedures. It can be rotated on the screen and viewed from almost any angle. Once you are satisfied with the result, your doctor will develop a surgical plan based on the changes you have made.
The entire process takes only a few minutes, and you will have the opportunity to review the results during your initial consultation. At that time, you can request alternative simulations to be sure you are comfortable with the recommended surgical plan.
